Capt Anders and Vaslov

Whenever I see this film, I always wonder why Anders surrendered so easily to Vaslov when he was already armed with an assault rifle.If it were me, I would have stood my ground, especially as I knew that were other Marines to back me up.No way would I have lowered my weapon to a man who had revealed himself to be a fake defector.
