Another plane question.

I was wondering if anyone could identify the corporate jet that Buckman's company flies.

reply

It looks like a Dassault Falcon 20

reply

Nope, it's a Lockheed JetStar.

You are correct, a Lockheed Jet Star. It was owned by Cameron Iron Works in Houston, who loaned it to the film company because Red Adair used Cameron equipment exclusively to put out wild wells. I know all this because I worked for Cameron and I'm the guy in the film who opened the door for Katherine Ross when the plane arrived in "New Orleans" scene-- which was actually just outside the Cameron hanger in Houston. The early Jet Stars had an inefficient air conditioning system when the plane was on the ground, and Katherine Ross and Jim Hutton (who was the film pilot) were sweltering on that plane as it taxied in from off camera on that hot August Houston day. Mr. Seger.... Thanks for posting on this site. Your information is very interesting, and I love that kind of behind-the-scenes trivia. I am in the middle of watching Hellfighters (online via Netflix, by the way). I have probably seen it three times before. As an FYI, I did update the Wikipedia web page on the Jetstar to reflect that it was shown in Hellfighters. Hope things are well for you. Cheers. Scott

It's been a year now, but I hope you come back and read this. Thank you very much for answering my question, and for providing background information.
