This film will be a lot more popular soon...

This is Tarantino's new choice of film to ripoff. Naturally, many people will discover this film and find where QT got his "influence" ehm..

You're absolutely right. I wasn't aware of how similar H8 is (in setting and environment) to The Great Silence. I think it's great that this movie will get a second life. It's amazing.

Dude at the end of the day, this movie is NOTHING like the Hateful Eight. A movie that's 2/3 Quentin Tarantino dialogue becomes original based on that alone.

There are similarities but once you add Samuel Jackson's character who is the main character to the mix, it becomes an entirely different film. Saying it's a ripoff because it's a western with bounty hunters that takes place in the snow is a little extreme.

Again, I argue with people about this all the time. Yes, Tarantino takes elements from a million different movies but once all is said and done, it becomes something you and I have never seen before because he is so skilled. There was no Hateful Eight before Hateful Eight.

That's like saying Inglorious Basterds is a total ripoff of the Dirty Dozen. Yes, he takes the basics same premise minus them being jewish and even has the same climax to a degree but the movie's are absolutely nothing alike when all is said and done. Look at all of the new amazing scenes, dialogue and characters he creates for Inglorious Basters that are nowhere to be found in Dirty Dozen.

Do you see any similarities between Reservoir Dogs and City On Fire?

Back to OP: yah, I saw The Great Silence because of Hateful 8. And I'm grateful for it. Fantastic film!

Not gotten all that much more popular, has it?

Scorsese, Kubrick, Paul Thomas Anderson, Altman, Fincher, Innaratu, ect......

All had influences and are all fantastic directors because of it,...a couple legends, and a couple possible legends in that mix as well,...so, save the "he's not original" BS for amateur film goers.
