What kind of animal has a pelt that looks like long human hair? No critter in North America, that's for sure. I see this creepy scalp-looking fur in other Spaghetti Westerns. Maybe some kind of goat? Looks like something they would wear in Afghanistan.

It could possibly be horse hair from the mane or tail. In the film people ate horses because of hunger, so I’m sure they would use the rest of the animal as well.
