Why renamed Naked Under Leather?

Hi, can anyone tell me why this was renamed Naked Under Leather?

Well, 3 guesses. Of course, we are always aware that Rebecca is naked under her leather gear. And I suppose that some studio guy thought that the punters would more likely turn up to a cheesy sexy title like that than on plain ole "Girl on a Motorcycle". It's just marketing.

I see things that never were and say WHAT THE..!.

I just watched the director's commentary and this film was censored for the American market, which he was v upset about. This makes it very weird (and a tad hypocritical?) that the title of the film was made more sexually explicit whilst the film itself was less so.

Because she is when riding her motorcycle and she mentions it during the film. It's also a more 'exploitative' movie title to gain more interest.

You mean Naked Under Black Leather. renamed to give teens the illusion its dirtier than it is.

No, according to this very IMDB page, the US title was just "Naked Under Leather".
