LSD is OK but daydreaming is bad..

I thought it was strange that the drug-inspired psychedelic scenes, which aren't present in the novel, cut across the footage of riding the motorcycle, and that riding the bike becomes unsafe when daydreaming about sex but doesn't seem to suffer when the visuals are distorted. As an ex-biker myself, I was anxious seeing those scenes. The last thing you need when riding a bike is to have hallucinations, and it doesn't resemble the pleasant endorphin rush of riding at all. While the movie was more faithful to the novel than any film adaptation I've seen of any literature, it was seriously harmed overall by the psychedelic scenes.
