One of the most powerful films I've ever seen

The plight of the Jew in microcosm. The crucible of anti-semitism leads to a chrysalis which transforms a non-observant agnostic into a true blue Jew. The irony of the ages: a vulnerable people, few in number, survive through history because of the very attempts to eradicate them; defined negatively through the hostility of their enemies which prevents their assimilation and loss of identity. Phenomenal film with some of the greatest performances to ever grace the screen.
