J. Robert Porter
What ever happened to J. Robert Porter? He doesn't have much of a history.
He got hanged by a group of outlaws after accidentally killing one of their number in Firecreek about 20 miles south of Sweetwater. His last words were that he was a rebel without a clue.

shareI think he meant the real J. Robert Porter. And did he really say that his last words were that he was a "rebel without a clue" in the movie? I must've missed that one! That surely must've been a reference to James Dean. Perhaps he and others *did* pay attention to the uncanny resemblance. That's pretty cool. :-)
Anyway, yeah, I REALLY want to know what happened to Porter in real life as well. The guy practically just disappeared off the face of the earth!
I thought he was James Dean at first.

Maybe James Dean didnt die and just changed his name for this movie.

Read his bio on here. He did a few things but then he and his brother worked on a ranch, cultivated weed during that time, and eventually was thinking of teaching acting. But he now has passed away
