What year did this take place, Cobb's revolver?

Cobb used a double action revolver that used metallic cartridges and a cylinder that swung open. Everyone else were using a Colt SAA revolver. I do not think the type of revolver was invented back then but it would depend on why year this story took place. Cobb's gun does not seem to be correct for the period but without knowing what year the story was set in I can not be sure. I got done watching it and am replaying it to see if there are any clues to the year.

Evelyn mentions to Larkin that he and his men might be part of the "northern range wars". The could refer to the Johnson County War of 1889–1893. So, then, those firearms would be appropriate. Johnson County is in northern Wyoming. Sweetwater is mentioned as a nearby town to Firecreek - and there is a Sweetwater County in southern Wyoming. Just a "shot" as to the time period of the film, and that is the only reference I could find.
