Bad color

I've seen this movie a couple of times online, and on TCM. I liked the movie but the color is terrible. It looks like a colorized movie. I know it's in technicolor but it is the worst technicolor I have seen. It is so pale it is close to being black and white. At least it is widescreen. I wonder why that is.It's still a good one to have in my collection.

That's funny, because I just saw this excellent film on TCM for the first time and thought the color was one of the best aspects of the film. A little understated, sure, but tastefully so- lots of earth tones but skin and hair coloration was natural, and the scenes of the town in daylight looked quite realistic with a lovely blue sky.

What a great film, with such excellent performances. Stewart and Fonda are fantastic with a superb supporting cast. Definitely worth a viewing.

Only lousy color in the one I saw was the phony blood, but the movies back then used ultra fake looking blood.

Agree with the comments about the blood colour.

I've seen the film a few times and the colour has always been pristine.

This movie definitely wasn't colourized.

The problem in film (at least in faded prints) is that reds come out
looking like orange. So does pink (which is why so women who are
wearing pink lipstick look like they're wearing orange lipstick).

Watching it on TCM now, and the colour seems good. Maybe a restored print?

Watching it right now on BBC 2 HD and it looks absolutely great.
Fantastic movie.

The colour looked alright to me.

It's that man again!!
