This is a very good movie and I like it very much.
I've been looking for it for some time but could'nt find it.
If somebody could give me a link for it I shall be oblged.
I have seen this movie in Italian about 20yrs ago & from it was fantastic from what I remember...I am interested in finding this movie as well if anyone would know how to get a copy. It was called "La Battaglia del Tallismano Verde"
shareWell, I've just seen it based only on the high rating and theme only. It was decent, silly & amateurish at times, and in my opinion a bit long. Nothing special, although I imagine it's a Hungarian national movie...

Well it was made in 1968 so of course time have passed since and technology has evolved.
I would brand it "national" too if it was purely fictional and the only purpose of it was to feed nationalism. But all characters have existed in reality and the story-lines follow true events. Also it was made during Communism which was against national identity so actually there was a supervisor during filming so it wouldn't be "too patriotic".
These people were this brave and patriotic in real life and fought against all odds. The Kingdom of Hungary were able to fight back the Ottoman Empire for 100 years before they could occupy 1/3 of it and they didn't get further than that even later. They protected Western civilization (again) without much help from the Western countries and it resulted in their demise. So many Hungarians have died that the number of minorities in the kingdom reached the natives' and the Western countries have destroyed the Kingdom of Hungary as a "thank you" after WWI based on the fact that they used Hungary as a fortress of Europe.
So you can dismiss it as a "nothing special national movie", it's your right but if you are from Europe of USA/Canada you owe a lot to these people.
