Song during scene when gun is found

Does anyone know the origin of the western song that plays during the scene when the main character finds the gun? The chorus repeats, "Lone gun...... where do you wander?" and tells the story of a (lone) gunman who is shot down by four lawmen. Is this the theme to the American western, "Lone Gun"? It sounds like the song was produced in the late 50s or early 60s.
