Prequel to Die Hard

The book that this is based on is a prequel to the book that Die Hard was based on - when the Bruce Willis film was made, the characters' names were changed. I'm now picturing Frank Sinatra running around the skyscraper picking off terrorists and wisecracking...

I'd wanna see Frank Sinatra crooning while pulling glass out of his foot.

Technically, a prequel was written (or filmed) after the book (or film) it's set before. A minor detail, of course.

But yes, after the book "The Detective" came the book "Nothing Lasts Forever" which Die Hard is based on, written by Roderick Thorp.

What I would like to see is a new series of stories with both of these being a part of the same series rather than this with " 58 Minutes " by Walter Wager. " The Detective " with " Nothing Lasts Forever " by Roderick Thorp at last filmed together as the series they were meant to be as they are in the books is I think what a great film series would be.

Damn, I'm finding it far too easy to picture Frank Sinatra shouting "Yippee ki ay, *beep*

In the novel "Nothing Lasts Forever" the detectives daughter *not his wife as in Die Hard..* gets pulled through the window with the villain to their deaths.

It's a movie, people! It's not, nor is it meant to be, real life!

I started reading the book but didn't finish it. But the book is actually about a guy investiagating the murder of a woman's husband. I haven't seen this but after reading parts of the book why did they change it to the murder of a homosexual man?

Kelloway: Doyle, get in the car.
Doyle: But I ordered Onion Rings.
Kelloway: Doyle!

The murder of the gay man was in the book. In fact, that was the main dilemma to solve. The movie just streamlines everything.

I'm curious if any elements of THE DETECTIVE will feature in DIE HARD: YEAR ONE, but I doubt the film-makers have even seen this film, much less read either of Thorp's books.

DIE HARD: YEAR ONE.

Sounds about as exciting as a biography of Neil Armstrong that ends BEFORE his trip to the moon.
