A simpler happier time or ?

I was wondering if these people were really living in a bubble or are we really to believe that's how their lives were. First thing I couldn't believe total strangers were chosen over a relative to take the boy home from school. Then we find out Yvonne had three children out of wedlock with two different men. After the killer turned out to be a friend of the family they laughed about it. Then the daughter just walked out of her mother's cafe after she was left in charge leaving it completely unattended. I suppose we're expected to suspend belief with musicals because who really runs around singing and dancing? I realize it's fantasy much like musicals of old, Brigadoon or Wizard of Oz. For some reason I didn't question those realities but this one that's all I could think of. Some people love it, I don't that's what makes the world go round. Thank goodness for that.

In a film depicting a world where everybody dance and sing, you would expect people to trust each other (Boubou picked by total strangers at school)and a murder being shrugged off as a none event.

Yes you're right. It's sad that I have been conditioned to think the worst.
