Does anyone who has seen this film agree with me? And with no dialogue, because no dialogue was needed!

Long after the movie has ended, you can't help but be filled with hope.
I didn't like the ending, although it was assumed they would get together it bugged me how they didn't show it. I really enjoyed the film and was really looking forward to that part, the ending ruined it a little for me.

I think I loved it for this reason. I thought the closer and closer it got to the end that they wouldn't meet up or it was going to leave it open for them to meet in Paris and I thought I would be dissappointed. Then at that last moment he jumps in and it was like this huge release of emotions and I couldn't stop clapping or laughing from excitement when the credits were rolling (and I was by myself). I think it was AMAZING. Definitely one of my favorites.

Normally, I love a good tragic ending, but they kept them apart for so so long and then it basically ended and I really thought they weren't going to meet and I just felt overwhelmingly disappointed. I really felt that the film earned its happy ending and even cynical old me was delighted when the truck stopped.
The ending and the moment where the other sister meets Gene Kelly as the music swells are just amazing.
I think he gets in the wrong truck...
shareI thought the exact same thing but after reading the plot on the French wiki, I watched it again and it's indeed the same truck.
1 - Same writing on the side: "Rocco", with the boats in the back.
2 - The guy opening the door (Bill, I think) has got the same clothes. Especially his distinctive yellow shirt.
How they fit five people in this cabin, I'll never know, though.

It was a wonderful ending although I’m not sure I’d go so far as to call it the greatest ever. Very beautiful though, yes.
