Does it make anyone sick that...

They had Diabolik in that stupid ass beep beep MST3K show?

First of all, I really despise that show, even the worst possible movies that they show don't deserve to be shown in that way, but a classic movie like Diabolik? It just pisses me off, if they didnt have Diabolik in that show, the avarage vote in IMDB for it would probably be 7,9 instead of 4,9 or something (or at least 6,9)

I really, really hate that show. Anyway, Diabolik is coming out on dvd on July 13th this year... don't miss it.

Oh my god, you clearly have no sense of humor. Did you star in a movie that MST3K riffed or something? What's with the hostility?

I'm going to give it a 1 just because this post annoys me.

I just bought the DVD and think it is marvelous. The extras are ideal - a documentary on the movie and Mario Bava, the Beastie Boys rock video for "Body Movin'" and of course the commentary track with John Phillip Law and film historian Tim Lucas. And it didn't cost very much.

One disappointment - they didn't mention the MST3k version on the commentary.

Still, the MST3K version was hysterical - one of their best. A good show to go out on but it is a pity that the series had to end. Their methods and sense of humor increased so much over the course of the series. By the end they were damn near perfection.

Why the hell does anyone care what a movie is rated on IMDB?

So much animosity here!
I saw 'Diabolik' a few months back, not knowing ANYTHING about the film except that Bava directed and Morricone composed. After seeing it, I felt its cheesy charm grow on me; it has this awesome aesthetic vibe so particular to the 60s, that it compensated for its few weakspots.
Browsing youtube, I caught the MST3K clips AFTER watching 'Diabolik' and had a good laugh, of course. But I can see how some people's opinions of this great movie can be moulded from seeing it first through MST3K, without forming their own conclusions, etc. You just start associating the smart-a$$ comments to everything in 'Diabolik', making it some big farce of a film, which it really isn't.
Did it 'deserve' to be lampooned on MST3K? I don't know.
To whoever said any movie w/ John Philip Law is cheesy...I beg to differ...have you seen 'Death Rides a Horse'?!
And as far as taste, well...there's no arguing when it comes to taste, especially film, so whatever. To each his own.

For me...it hit the spot.

if you're so worked up over a movie on Mystery Science Theater, you should probably get out more. It's a damn TV series for crying out loud. The movies they show aren't always really horrible but they are older and dated-that may be the case with Diabolik. It worked very well at the time but didn't age well, it's not one of those timeless classics that can work throughout the ages-and it isn't MEANT to be, it's a silly movie based on a damn comic. I mean if Mystery Science Theater still existed in 10 to 20 years I am sure they'd be making fun of current popular movies Spiderman, Batman, The Hulk. They're good now but in 20 years tastes and movie making will have changed and it will all seem so lame and silly.

MST3K, I like but this one was good, I havn't seen the MST3K version of this, so I don't know what they did to it, but it is much better than other things like "Deathstalker and the warriors from hell", say.
