The pool hall fight scene had the most fakey blood I've ever seen in a movie of this quality. It looks like the drool from a strawberry Twisler. Was that the state of the art back then? Surely not!

It looked like strawberry syrup. It did not even drip!

All movies from the 60's and 70's has similar looking blood .. it looked more like candy apple red paint. I believe it may have been purposefully used to depict bloody carnage without making it too realistic looking.

Movie blood looked very phony until BONNIE & CLYDE and THE WILD BUNCH upped the ante for realistic violence and gore in film.
