Being an Albert Finney fan, I'd heard of this film but never seen it, so got the DVD and saw it recently. Not funny, exciting or very interesting, the story itself is o.k but nothing happened. When Charlie climbed into the hot air balloon and went up in it, I jokingly thought to myself "I bet that's the climax to the film". Then, the cast went up and it was the end! So that was the climax!

Good revue 'markbc-2' and even my wife gave a similar response after watching the film. She used to enjoy the mainstream American rubbish, but I've now successfully turned her on to British classics.

Just got the dvd and I couldn't agree more Markstah! I thought the film textbook on his coffee table said it all (although I never found Monica Vitti as inspiring as Jeanne Moreau).
