Yes, but there's a lot of debate over the particulars; since Nolan died we can only speculate about his intentions, and eyewitness testimony isn't consistent.

Depending on which witness you listened to, or historical account you consult:

1. Nolan recognized the Light Brigade was headed down the wrong valley and tried to stop them, shouting "Threes right!" (the film version)
2. Nolan just wanted to spur the advance on, and died shrieking in agony rather than saying anything coherent.

The cynic in me wants to dismiss the first option as too romantic to be true, but there was so much implausible nonsense going on at Balaclava it doesn't feel out of place.

I'm afraid that you underestimate the number of subjects in which I take an interest!
