Karzai is as common a name in Afghanistan now as it was 1968 when the film was being scripted.
And in actual fact 'Khasi' isn't the characters name, it's his title.
It's a pun, if you're a fan of carry on you must surely know what a pun is.
After the Afghan election results, it really is Carry on Karzai ;)
