The special edition DVD...

So, did anyone else bother to try and track down a copy of the special edition DVD? Can't say as there's a huge amount of extras on there. Let's be honest, apart from a couple of suitably odd radio spots, there's nothing particularly interesting on the DVD, although the circular art cards that came with it are nice!

But what I ouldn't give for some meat there... An interview, perhaps, or a doco? God, could you imagine if they gathered together all the surviving people involved- let's face it, it shouldn't be too hard, as there aren't many left, and they probably can't run too quickly- and have them record a commentary? I could listen to that over and over...

There's an interview with writer Buck Henry on the recent Kino Lorber release in both the DVD and Blu-ray formats.

Oh, I know! Have you seen it? How is it?

I know I'm going to have to get it at some point, but I've already spent so much getting on the two DVDs, the original poster, the bizarre Japanese booklet thingy...

Hell, even my mobile case is a picture of the original poster!

The Buck Henry interview is great because he openly admits that the movie didn't turn out as well as he hoped it would. Moreover, the interview with film critic and historian Kim Morgan is one of the most unintentionally funny extras I've recently watched; she rambles all over the place and appears to be winging the whole thing. The transfer is gorgeous, too.
