Fyodor Dostoyevsky's Brothers Karamazov

I would like to get a copy of the 1969 version by Kirill Lavrov and Ivan Pyryev, does anyone know where I might find this film?

reply

Hi,
You may find it on VHS in Russia.
Please try to view the russian browsers:
www.yahoo.ru
www.yandex.ru
www.google.ru

It is a problem, as their e-shops do send abroad. If you thus know the answer where may I find it please let me know.

Best Regards,

A DVD can be found at Amazon Japan:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B000NVTIYU/ref=dp_change_lang/503-9553807-7413547?ie=UTF8&language=en%5FJP

Of course, it's only for those who understand either Russian or Japanese.

If you are still looking, try... http://www.petershop.com/en/catalogue/videodvd/ivan-aleksandrovich-pyrev/bratya-karamazovy-3serii.html

This is a PAL dvd in Russian wt NO subtitles. As you may know, a PAL dvd won't play on US NTSC dvd players, but it might play on Region Free players and some computers with WIN-Video.

I would be willing to pay quite a bit of money to find a copy of this with English subtitles. I've been looking for months, with no luck.

For anyone who's still looking for a copy of this film with English subtitles, someone has posted it on YouTube. It's in several parts, and you can view the first part at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFcy1ff0HJg.
