It really scares me to see the total incomprehension displayed by the posters here. I guess it just shows how crude, unthinking and brutalised the world has become. A hypnotic film. And I'd never heard of 'John Waters', whoever he may be, until the mention of his name on this board...
And of course, any film branded a failure by Melvyn Bragg is bound to be good.
You've seriously never heard of John Waters? The guy's a film icon and responsible for one of the coolest and most controversial films ever made (that being Pink Flamingos). Maybe it's time for you to cool it on judging other film fans and pick up a few selections from Waters' catalog!

I'm replying 2 years after you Mike, but I think you're a Brit if I'm right. This film is super campy. The Kabuki hat scene with Liz...whenever I think about it has me in hysterics laughing hard whenever I think about it.
