shareI agree. I thought it was a very powerful film. Maybe it's been suppressed for political reasons - after all, you can still get hold of "The Quiet Man" (1953) which gives a ludicrously rosy view of all things Irish.

Who would suppress it, the Brits? There is a lot worse out there in the public domain now due to freedom of information laws. The only things that I remember were wanking and the denouement. And the denoeument was something which still happens in the British and all other armies, so it's no secret.
The probable reason that you don't see the movie is that it's terminally boring, even for someone interested in military minutia and psycholigical drama.
Odeon Entertainment are scheduled to release the film on dvd in the UK this month.
