this is possibly one of the best disney movies ever made very funny i have watched lots of times

i think this film is truly great
dean jones and peter ustinov are an amazing double act in this film
going to go watch it again now :)

My husband says that this is one of the two movies he saw in the theater as a kid. I guess his family did not go very often. Dean Jones and Peter Ustinov are outstanding in this film. Wish they made more of them together of this type. A movie you would be proud to own.

The only other two Disney films in this class are Mary Poppins and That Darn Cat. This is a great film. I have seen it at least 50 times in my life.

How nice to see the LOVE for this film. I saw it in the theatre when it came out - I was 10 - and it was one of a handful of films I saw in the theatre as a child (mmm Lady Bandit, maybe your hubby & I are related). The DVD was in a Pirate Theme auction I attended recently & I HAD to have it - luckily the bidding didn't get too high, perhaps others didn't feel the same connection I did ! Watching it brought back happy memories & we laughed ourselves silly at the fight scene in the casino. It is refreshing to watch such silly, simple fun. Well acted & written as well. Sure it can be a bit corny and of course it isn't historically accurate, but it is great fun.

My friends are enjoy this movie a-lot and treated me to "Blackbeard's Ghost" a few years ago!
