Very moving and poignant to know that Catherine
Deneuve learnt about her sister's death
on the first day of filming.
Catherine and Françoise simply adored each other
and it must have been harrowing for Deneuve to
just try to live with this, let alone act ( and look pretty ! )
I think she went straight back to filming and refussed to 'deal' with the death. She said that she only really dealt with it a lot of years later.

It may have added an extra degree to that wonderful feeling of cool detachment in beauty, which reaches an almost magical level, in this film. Has she ever looked lovelier? She really looks like a painting by Boucher.
