BANDOLERO

Of all of Dean Martins movies this has to be my favourite, I have seen this movie so many times I have lost count, Dean gets to act alongside one of Hollywoods greats James Stewart.
Dean proved he could act in many films, he is also in my opinion the greatest singer of all time so I am a little upset with helpless_dancer from Broken Bow, Oklahoma who wrote...
Good western with lots of nice Utah scenery and a mighty fine shoot-out at the end. No, Dino didn't exercise his pipes. *THANK GOD*
Well helpless dancer you have good taste in movies but how can you put down Deans singing voice ?
He had more hits than Sinatra or Tony Bennett, he knocked the Beatles off top spot with Everbody Loves Somebody not that I care about whether or not he sang in Bandolero, it wasnt realy the kind of movie where he could sing.
But Dean was the greatest and you call yourself helpless dancer, maybe you are dancing to the wrong sort of music, try dancing to Dean singing Sway.

Don't be too harsh on Broken Bow, the singing cowboy went out with Roy Rodgers and Radio Ranch. Dino's one of the greatest entertainers, but you haven't lived until you've heard him sing a trio with Rick Nelson and Walter Brennan in Rio Bravo. What the hell was that about? Nothing like breaking into song in a Western just because you have a singer in the cast.

I recently rediscovered Dean Martin and it was because of this movie.
It truly is a great western and Dean and James and Raquel put down a very nice performance.
Dean's character is very lovable and it's hard to believe that this is the same man from the Dean Martin shows at NBC. I never knew he could play a cowboy so well.

I agree. It would not have fitted in this movie and also it's not because he's a singer that he has to sing in every movie he's in.

I agree Lady, Dean was an under rated actor. His performances in “Some Came Running”, “Rio Bravo”, “Career” and “Airport” were great. The fact Dino didn’t take himself too seriously hurt him in some ways, because it seems critics didn’t either - their loss.

Frank Sinatra didn't sing in "From Here to Eternity" or "The Man with the Golden Arm," but IMHO that didn't hurt those movies either. Thank goodness Clint Eastwood sang in only a couple of his movies!

Raquel never did wear the bandolero she posed wearing in the poster of the movie. Did anyone else notice this misleading fact?
