I think he is trying to say he doesn't make horror films. At the begining he says something like the horror or the monsters are you, meaning the audience. This line is quoted in the "quotes" section on the main page for this film on imdb. Then they, the dr. and Joe discuss drugs and depravity and how our behaviors are truly horrific. Finally they do the lsd experiment and we discover the nasty violent hallucintations are not due to lsd, but to our imaginations. I think Marins is commenting that horror exists because humans are horrific capable of great cruelty. with this thesis in place Marins is not a horror film maker, but a man holding up a mirror to his audience.

anyone who says this is not a movie or this is a piece of crap is not using his head.
