a fatastically fun film to view!!

This film is a total delight!!! Miss Davis is the monster mother of all time.

All the english actors in the cast are well cast. Sit Back and enjoy this film , it is a very black comedy and don't take it too serously!!!

It certainly is! Recently Sheila Hancock played the star role in a London stage revival (having appeared in the original play and film versions) and was terrific!

Can't wait for it to be on DVD in the US!!!

It certainly is, but mostly for the wrong reasons: I just watched this again recently - I have no excuse for viewing this film as many times as I have except that it provides an opportunity to watch Bette Davis ride rough-shod over cast and director in a completely over-the-top performance. This is not a film I recommend to people new to Miss Davis's work, because they'll find it hard to believe she won two Oscars and had ten nominations, made us weep in DARK VICTORY and NOW, VOYAGER, chilled us in THE LITTLE FOXES, or made us laugh in ALL ABOUT EVE.

Well, you may want to re-think your recommendations then. Because honestly, I just got through watching this film and enjoyed it SOOOOOOOO much more than ALL ABOUT EVE and THE LITTLE FOXES! In fact, THE ANNIVERSARY makes me a Davis fan. I really adored her in it. The other films you mentioned, of those I've seen, just bored me. Here, I can see what makes her a great leading lady. But, in the others on your list that I've seen, I wasn't impressed.

So, as far as I'm concerned, if you want to turn someone on to Davis, start with THE ANNIVERSARY or BABY JANE! Not THE LITTLE FOXES, et. al., which I consider a bunch of well-made snooze-fests.

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!
