I just saw the film for the first time in 30 years and it struck me that Dino and Janice Rule are very well matched and seem to be having a lot of fun. Janice Rule comes off a lot better than Senta Berger as far as I'm concerned. I also liked the ridiculous gadgets and who can forget James Gregory as Matt's boss MacDonald. In my opinion, this is so much better than any of the Flint movies.

Sorry, but I have to disagree there. Janice Rule was certainly a classy beauty and an underrated actress -- check out her performance in The Swimmer. But hotter than Ann-Margret? A-M was a bundle of incredible talent wrapped in grade-A, 100-proof sex!

The only babes in this film that could compete with Ann-Margret is Senta Berger and Lovey Kravesit. Janice Rule to me seemed to skinny and reminded me of a younger Rosalind Russell, good actress but no sex appeal. Whereas all it takes is Senta Berger to walk out in the Neglige and my schnitzel grows to epic proportions. Ann-Margret and Senta Berger to me were the sexiest babes of the 60s. Period hands down without a doubt... They still arouse me even these 45 years later...

shareThe comments here are very interesting. I have just seen this film for the first time (in over forty years of film watching!) and that was my conclusion also. She was the best aspect of the movie and she did, as you all say, really seem to be enjoying her role. She was fully appreciating that it was not to be taken too seriously whilst at the same time giving a professional performance in establishing the character and keeping within the concept of the film.

Wow, Matt Helm vs. Flint and Janice Rule vs Ann-Margret. Those are contests for the ages. I will give Matt Helm a slight advantage over Flint but Janice Rule, great as she is, was no match for Ann-Margret. Senta Berger is also awesome but I think she was somewhat wasted in this movie.
shareTheir chemistry was awesome. They were like the Hart to Hart of the 1960s. Wouldn't it have been great if they had made a similar TV series? And Senta Berger would always be on hand as the rival agent, also always on the same case and making Janice Rule feel jealous, on every episode. That would have been a gem.
