SQUIRT squirts it at Dr Phil re Duvall

Quite amazing to see this, Kubrick's daughter Vivian, Squirt in 2001, lash out at Dr Phil's exploitation of a seriously unwell Shelley Duvall. Through her Twitter account Vivian has been calling for Dr Phil's show, in which he interviews a horribly distressed and unwell Duvall, to be stopped from being broadcast, and now has numerous celebrities supporting her, including Mia Farrow and her son.

Break out the knives and baseball bats, and shove a banana up Dr Phil's ass.

I'm writing to Santa, requesting that for Christmas he sends the Harfords in Manhattan, with eyes wide open, Delbert Grady, Jack Torrance, Dr Phil, and the Sheriff of Nottingham, along with the Overlook's walk-in food freezer, where I will lock them up to work out their problems and differences, where they can be Corrected. But first I'm gonna start a crowd funding website to raise the money to post the letter, cuz the reindeer have to negotiate all the bears in the snow of the Overlook maze, and save all the bush babies from Dr Heywood Floyd.

Yup.

Thanks, Viv.

What is equally disturbing is that Vivian's fundraising campaign, aiming to raise $100,000 ostensibly to "help" Duvall, will see these funds going directly into a Scientology bank account in Clearwater, Florida, where this financially fraudulent, tax-evading, worker-enslaving, sham organization has its world headquarters (all the major Scientology-cult celebrity-crackpots, Travolta, Cruise, Alley, now have their homes there). It's yet more exploitation of Duvall. Vivian lives in Allen, Texas, while Shelley lives in Blanco, Texas, very far from Clearwater, Florida.

More to the point, what is a multi-millionaire, Vivian Kubrick (who lives off a very large trust fund established by her late father decades ago, and who is herself severely paranoid and "mentally distressed") raising funds for a retired, multi-millionaire actress, Shelley Duvall (wealth estimated at $2-$5 million, with a house and lands in Blanco, Texas worth around $1 million)? Lack of money or funds ("embarrassed finances" is the silly euphemism used) is not Duvall's problem, but her chronic delirium and paranoia, which she's actually been suffering from since the 1990s, and which prevents her from receiving treatment even as she appears to openly state that she wants help, because they're all part of the 'conspiracy' being orchestrated by "the Sheriff of Nottingham" and the "Martians".

Tragically, Shelley's condition will now become even more acute, because she's now beyond being responsive to any mode of therapy, treatment, or counseling, and will soon lapse into irreversible psychosis.

Wow. I happened to see the interview even though I'm not a TV person but I heard a snippet of daytime tv mention The Shining so I watched. I was torn. Exploitative, probably, but an actual chance to help Duvall who clearly isn't getting it any other way, maybe. Very scary. Also, like it or not, like him or not, Dr Phil did raise awareness for mental health!

But what I meant to say was "holy ship." That point you make about $cientology is way creepier than the Dr. Phil interview. If true, I wonder how many Kubrick and Duvall fans were duped by this jerk of a woman. Mental health problems is one thing but falling for an embarrassment of a religion like Xenu and the Clearwater Child Molesters is quite another.
