Looking for Pippi movies in their original audio format

I find the English dubbing for these movies to be bery annoying, especially the first movie. I still can't figure out if these movies were originally filmed in Swedish or in German. I would love to purchase them in their original languages, and hear Inger's, Par's, and Maria's actual voices. I've watched these movies so many times, I already know what they are saying anyway! However, these movies are available primarily in PAL format. The DVD's that are available in the United States do not have a Swedish or German audio option on them.Does anyone know how I can get these movies on VHS or on DVD, in their original audio format?

They are originally in swedish. And filmed on beatyful and mystic gotland island in sweden.
No I don´t know where you can buy them but I know a swedish site called CDON.COM maybe you will find them there.
And yeah Pippi is so funny.

I wish all 13 episodes were available with the original Swedish language and English subtitles.

I would love that, too. The original Swedish versions of the series & movies are the best, as you get to fully appreciate the performances!

In the meantime, maybe someone can do a fansub or something like that... :)

Finally someone has done a full translation and subtitle of this series!

NOTE: This is a link to the download page for the subtitles ONLY. Which is perfectly legal. It's up to you to apply them to the episodes yourself, however you obtain them.

The original TV series (and two theaterical movies) was made in Sweden. The confusion with West Germany is understandable, as the series was a German co-production. (The German company Beta Film had all rights to the series outside Sweden.) Three actors in the TV series (the ones playing Madame Prysselius and the two thieves Thunder-Karlsson and Bloom) are German; in the original Swedish version, they were dubbed in Swedish.

The Swedish version was just 13 episodes (from early-1969), followed by two theatrical movies (Pippi in the South Seas and Pippi on the Run) from 1970.

The German version was:

-Four movies: the first two (Pippi Longstocking and Pippi Goes on Board) were compilations of the Swedish TV series, and the last two were the aforementioned two Swedish movies. These four films were released first; the TV series wasn't released there until 1971.
-The TV series, which was 21 episodes in Germany (the additional 8 episodes are 4-part serialized versions of Pippi in the South Seas and Pippi on the Run; both serials also contain deleted footage not seen in Sweden).

I hope this helps!

I don't actually know how it works. If you can play a dvd from Europe with an USA player? VHS had this limit, region 1 or 2. Otherwise you can order it from a couple of sites. cdon.com that is already mentioned. There you can buy all the movies of Astrid Lindgrens books. Discshop is also good.
