Who pays Prospect Park anyway..is it Hulu?

because if hulu is paying PP for those shows then i can see why they are cutting the shows each week...it started off strongly but obviously the reality of how hard it is to maintain momentum of these shows is making them lose money...

they need more advertisers but how to convince the major ones is hard for an online viewing audience..

I believe PP is paying Hulu to carry the soaps. So it was PP's decision to cut back on episodes.

No, the decision was PP's. I believe PP is trying to stretch out its available episodes so they'll last longer. "Passions" did the same thing when they moved to DirecTV. They stopped production around February/March 2008, but only aired 3 episodes a week, stretching out the original airings until August 2008.

Ultimately PP is trying to cut costs. It's a lot cheaper to produce only 2 shows a week rather than 4.

They are not just producing 2 episodes a week though. They were filming mutli-episodes per day (at least 2-3). The original plan was to film AMC for 5 weeks at the studio, then film OLTL for 5 weeks after that. During that 5 week period, they were filming as many as 50-75 episodes. They are not slowing down to only film two episodes per week, they are only slowing down the release date of when the episodes will air.
