The list of actors who appeared in the series is an almost exhaustive "who's who" of Hollywood of the time

It's the same with most of the NBC MYSTERY MOVIES that replaced the series. McMillian & Wife, Colombo, McCloud,etc also had the same type of A-Listers.
Universal's same production teams worked on the 'Mystery Movies' that followed on from TNOTG - they even had identical yellow episode credits !
Susan Saint James got her starring role in 'McMillan and Wife' as a result of her award winning role as Peggy Maxwell in TNOTG while Peter Falk took a guest lead in 'A Sister From Napoli', Dennis Weaver appeared in 'Give Till it Hurts' and alot of the other guest actors that featured in TNOTG later turned up in 'Mystery Movies' as well
hope the DVDs of TNOTG aren't too far away...!
