Something I've always noticed when watching The Mod Squad is how Peggy Lipton, who is usually hot, looks so worn out during the opening credits. I never understood why that particular scene of the 3 leads running was used. Julie looks so tired and helpless. It seems as though Linc and Pete are practically carrying her while they're running down that tunnel. I would think the producers would use better footage of her.
shareThe producers wanted her to look that way to show that "crime doesn't pay", probably. She (and the guys) needed a better life. So Captain Greer turned them into good cops and citizens. :-)
shareYeah if you look at it Pete is all sweaty and out of breath like he's been running for a long time down this dirty alley-and Julie appears equally exhausted for obviously the same reason and Captain Greer bursts out of the door after them-the only one who doesn't fit is Linc who shows up looking clean and cool until all 3 run at the end.
I think it would've been great to see a true pilot-when Greer first found each of them and came up with the idea-instead of the one where they're "busted" but it's just a test to see how well they fit in undercover.
