When did you see Marine Boy?

I was born in 1967, and I remember seeing it when still very young, though I have no particular memories of any stories, I guess around 5 years old (??)

Not so strangely, the haunting theme tune stuckwith me and I was able to indulge in a retro/nostalgia moment when I got to see some episodes that had been taped off Australian TV some years back.

It was the late 70's to early 80's.Our new (at that time) UHF station showed the reruns.Same with Speed Racer.

I saw it in Britain in either the late sixties or 1970 at the latest. I don't think it has ever been repeated on British tv.

I used to love this cartoon when I was young, about 5 or 6 I guess back in 1975/76. My sister and I would always be up early on a Saturday morning to watch it. I haven't seen or heard anything of it since, would love to see an episode or two now just to see if it were as good as I remember!

...oh, It was the early 1970s, I think... I used to watch it weekday afternoons on channel 45 in Baltimore (The Captain Chesapeak Show). He also showed episodes of Speed Racer (darned if I can remember what else - time to hit the newspaper archive!) It wasn't the best animation (I'm no snob, I enjoy the origianl Astroboy as much as the newer animated stuff), but for a kid, it was alot of fun on weekday afternoons after school.

In response to wolfdangler, I grew up in the Washington DC area and watched marine boy plus all of the others on channel 20 but I also was able to pick up channel 45 and remember Capt. Chesapeak very well. Remember Moandy the sea monster? That was such great programming back then. Channel 20 had there version of Capt. Chesapeak called Capt. 20, but he was based on an alien from outer space. Do you remember that the same guy that played Capt. chesapeak, George Lewis, also hosted on Sat. nights, The Ghost host? Capt. 20 did the same thing as Count Gore De Vol on Creature Feature. It was always a toss up of which one to watch as they seemed to come on at the same time. Like I said earlier, that was just great programming back then. If interested in watching Marine boy again, there is an episode on youtube.com right now. Just search for Marine boy.

Dick Dyszel played "Count Gore De Vol"/"Captain 20" (with pointed ears!). He was also was the fourth(?)local Bozo the Clown for awhile. Check out these URLs - "http://captain20.com";

Drszel is still alive, where as "Captain Chesapeake" passed away in 2000.
I usually watched "Creature Feature". Sometimes, the reception of WBFF was not that good (and STILL ISN'T!).

I wonder WHY they didn't air "MarineBoy" on channel 20?

I used to place chicklet's gum in my mouth while I was swimming at age 4.5 and end up choking and throwing up on the side of our pool! I LOVED this show and remember watching it after or before "Lost in Space" it was on UHF channel ?? In San Francisco in 1970-???
Let's keep it nice.....

"Haunting" theme tune? Guess you must have had a different one from the one we had in the UK (which, shockingly, I have just managed to hum from start to finish, and even remembered some of the words, which just goes to show that I must have watched it quite a bit back in 1969/70 or whenever it was!).

About 1970-1975. It aired on the Wee Willie Webber Show on Channel 17 out of Philadelphia, in a line-up which included the likes of Speed Racer, Kimba, Milton the Monster, and The Mighty Hercules.
