www.tvshowsondvd.com has just reported that the first season of IT TAKES A THIEF will come to DVD in February 2011! YAY!!! This fact is also announced inside the DVD set for ELLERY QUEEN due out on 9/28. It's about time!!!!

shareAnd I have to say that this show really holds up over the test of time, I think. Looking back on some episodes of MANNIX and HAWAII 5-0, some scripted scenes are almost laughable now. I love THIEF as it was a show about theivery that didn't rely heavily on hi tech gadgets and hardware. I find no suspense in movies and TV shows where the thieves rely on sophisticated technology.

shareI concur! ITAT is probably my favorite TV series of all time.......though I have others I like. I always loved the intrigue and suspense and the fact that Mundy never used a lot of high tech devices to pull off his thefts. Subsequent movies and TV shows relied too heavily on high tech gadgets like THE REAL McCOY, OCEANS 11-13, THE SCORE, THE ITALIAN JOB.......and those movies lacked suspense to me. Ho hum!

shareNo update I am sorry to say. :( I keep checking www.tvshowsondvd.com daily for updates and updates on other classic shows. The ELLERY QUEEN DVD set had an ad stating that IT TAKES A THIEF was coming soon to DVD. The first season is available via streaming video on www.hulu.com, though.
