The funny thing is now they are having will smith as alexandr mundy after he did a lousy turn as jim west .They should have either jamie fox or some one else as the charchter i think it would be better.

Yeah I like Jamie Foxx like in BAIT! Or even Denzel Washington like from The Manchurian Candidate (2004) or The Siege (1998). Denzel might make a good Noah Bain or Wally Power too.

Jamie or Wesley Snipes--if they're dead set on him being black. Snipes & George Clooney can do they cocky machismo like no one.

Could someone please explain to me (without getting their "racist feathers" ruffled) what is this fascination of casting black stars in all these remakes? Honestly, that in and of itself is pretty damn racist...oops, sorry, only "white people are racist" (that's sarcasm for the slow children).

Studios want to cast which actor they think will bring in more profits. Smith is clever & charismatic--& a huge 'crossover' star.
He can be charming, but we, the purists, want to see Mundy played by someone who can be suave & debonaire--like Wagner. Perhaps, Eric Bane, since he didn't get 007.
I think Hugh Jackman would be *beep* brilliant--as he is a trained actor--unlike Smith, & highly charming, also. (Wow! They really block anything suggestive--not explicit, around here. I was just invoking Billy Connolly.)
I WILL say, I have less problem with Smith in this concept, than in 'the Wild, Wild West'.

Well Maybe even have Robert Wagoner play him. He seems to age pretty well seeing him in Austin Powers.

Wagner DOES look great, though he IS 80, like Eastwood, Loggia, Connery & Hackman. All from 1930.
He could play Noah Bain nicely.
Or, even better, the father, Alister Mundy, though I'd like it to be @ least SEMI-serious---not like the later episodes, w/Astaire.

Will Smith has done some fine film work in Six Degrees of Separation and some other serious roles. Snipes, Foxx, et. al. would do their best, but it's impossible to recapture the original chemistry of the old favorites, from Culp/Cosby in I Spy; Macnee/Rigg in The Avengers; Throne/Wagner/Astaire in It Takes a Thief; Conrad/Martin in Wild, Wild West; Douglas/Malden in Streets of San Fransisco; etc. The real problem with this project? I've never seen one of these reworked old series that works on the big screen. This constant need to recreate past successes irritates me. With DVDs, we can all enjoy the originals. I can't abide ersatz anything. When will this generation finally show some confidence in its own creativity? (Then again, given the putrid quality of most current films, maybe I should be careful about that wish.)

My problem with most movie re-makes of TV series is that they turn the movie a cheap parody of the original. "The A-Team" was great, because they stayed true to the spirit of the original show.

As for the remake, (I'm sorry if this offends someone. I am not trying to hurt or upset anyone.) I think Will Smith is a bit too old to play the part, and I can't come up with a black actor the right age. If they change thier minds and decide to cast a white actor, the obvious choice is Matt Bomer. Neal Caffery on "White Collar" is the modern day Al Mundy.
