Seasson 10 ,first few shows Q.

Why do some of theseshows from 1977 look worse in quality
than many of the ones beforee that were cleaned up wonderfully?

Were they really unable to fix them
at all? Were the orginal prints damaged or such?

Also ,about Season 11 ep. "The Case Against Philip Christie". Anyone notice how 'perfect' the color and picture is in that show? It almost looked like it was shot on (day one qality)Video-tape!

Especially the scenes with the ocean in the background. 

CBS/Paramount rushed the Season 10 DVD set to market to tie in with the premiere of the Five-0 remake:

Yeah, there was huge drop down in quality on this set compare to previous sets. I think they rush this set through when they could have taken more time, but it is was all marketing, especially with the new show.

Supposedly they went back and then remastered the episodes properly for release on Netflix, but they never fixed the DVDs because then they would have to give refunds or exchanges to everyone who bought the substandard first edition!

Funny how CBS goes 'all out' for the GUNSMOKE fans
(I'm one) and those 60 to 49 year old B & W shows look great!

Did CBS/Paramount think people would confuse the two and buy up their DVD's ? 

Well ,I gues we can only hope they re-issue the DVD's 'someday'.

Those ep.'s look like they were made in the '60s ,not '77-'78. Sheesh!

Thanks for the reply. 

I honestly don't know what they were thinking. If you read the user reviews on Amazon.com, you can see that the classic Five-O fans were not happy:

There was a rumor that the "Complete Series" Box set had remastered Season 10 episodes. I don't know if it's true.
