How quaint

In the episode where the eloping couple has to stay at the cottage after their car breaks down, the husband to be says to Mrs. Muir, "We have to have separate bedrooms, because we aren't married." This was as late as 1968, folks.

And yet, when Mrs. Muir and the Capt. are discussing her efforts to write fiction about seafaring people, they had some pretty risque lines for that same era. Gregg introduces the thought that a lone woman on a ship would have her clothes torn off, and worse.
