decades tv 'binge watch'

it was fun to see some of the episodes again - they're rarely ever broadcast, i especially enjoyed how she evolved over the 5 years, towards the series end having 2 boyfriends she very obviously sleeps with, all her gay friends and neighbors, these were both very risque in the early 1970's and i'm especially surprised CBS let her, but glad she did. one of the favorites for me was when mr. jarvis comes over all annoyed and complains to her that their mutual neighbor is watching THE DORIS DAY SHOW full blast (volume) "she's so annoying" he quips, to which she nods in agreement, then they sing a verse from 'que sera sera', another favorite completely different episode, she is in a DORIS DAY look-a-like contest and of course she wins - similar to when LUCY met LUCILLE BALL but still was fun to see and finally the one where she and a very gay couple and 2 straight couples (one pair are mushy newlyweds) are going to buy the building they live in and turn it into a co-op - thanks DECADES & DORIS :)

Good points. And you can't forget to mention all the fashion shows she some how was part of. :) Her first main "BF" was played by Peter Lawford as a Doctor, who she was still seeing when she met her "NEW BF" played by Patrick O'Neal as, I believe, a politician AND married to Julie Adams who when she meets 'Doris Martin' has a thing or two to say, she (wife Julie) eventually leaves him and then finally divorces Patrick who continues to see 'Doris' who for the rest of the series 'dates' both guy's. Neither guy appears to be concerned about the other guy, although it appears she (Doris) might prefer Peter Lawford as he is shown staying at her place more often than Patrick O'Neal - all this was in season 5 and a pretty bold story for the early 1970's let alone a sitcom. Sometime in the third or fourth season she (Doris) is suddenly a successful 50 something single 'hipster' in swingin' San Francisco with an open relationship(s), gay friends, a cool apartment, great job, etc. etc. similar to ABC's "That Girl" (1966-1971) with Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie, a 20 something 'hipster' single girl in New York trying to get into show business, otherwise very much the same as TDDS (1968-1973) or CBS's "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (1970-1977) with MTM as Mary Richards, a 30 something (somewhat a) 'hipster' single girl in Minneapolis working in a TV News room, also otherwise, very much like TDDS. Ironically, MTM is still popular today and probably the best known/remembered of the three series (very often wrongly mentioned as the first series about a single girl) followed by TG with TDDS being the least known/remembered series, because as you pointed out, it is the least broadcast/rerun today, and yet as first original run/broadcast, TDDS killed in the ratings (always a Neilsen top 10, often top 3) while TMTMS struggled for a couple years before securing a top 15 Neilsen rating or TG which was never in the top 25 Neilsen's. Fun stuff - huh? :)

I was remembering bits and pieces of different cast on the show and was getting confused. Now I understand why I remember so many different stories lol
