Have anymore of the 'lost' episodes been found yet?

Was just curious if any of the lost episodes have turned up yet. It is such a shame that they went missing in the first place as Dad's Army is in my opinion, one of the best British sitcoms ever made.

As far as I'm aware it's Still only the three episodes that have been found from series two. I'ts been a while since they were discovered too so sadly I'm not holding out much hope on any others being found. Having said that I'm keeping my fingers crossed

I'm not aware of any additional lost episodes turning up, but one of the two lost episodes returned to the BBC in 2001 after being recovered from a skip three decades earlier ('Operation Kilt' series 2, episode 1) will be transmitted on BBC2 next Saturday (20th June 2015) at 8.30pm. It will be interesting to see how it looks in HD transmission quality. Given its history, probably not that good, I would imagine!

BBC2 have been repeating all the series on saturday evenings. Tonight was the first episode of the final series,9, but they have skipped the last 2 episodes of series 8. Surely these have not been lost? I wonder why they have been skipped.

reply

Are they the Long christmas episodes, if so that's why they were skipped.

reply

Yes they are the Christmas Specials, neither of which are really part of series 8. It is just the way IMDb lists episodes, according to IMDb "Only Fools and Horses" had 9 series when in reality it only had 7.
