Why not on US TV??

They get all sorts of Uk programing on PBS/local stations, but I've never in 40 years seen Dad's Army? Do tell if anone's got any info.

They re-made an episode of DA for an American network (i think either NBC or ABC) which failed, it was a re-make of The Deadly Attachment. I think they attempted to air DA in the US back in the 70's but it failed to catch on.

The other poster is correct. When Britcoms began airing on ETV back in the 1970s, Fawlty Towers, To The Manor Born and Dad's Army were some of the first, as I do recall them.

Dad's Army has since aired about twice, tho ETV didn't air Dad's Army for very long.

the last time, by chance, I got just very few eps recorded, only one complete ep, Mum's Army, with Carmen Silvera, as I thought it was such a lovely episode for Mainwaring.

Whatever the problem is with missing episodes for Dad's Army, we havent had many air here that I have seen (like I would notice any missing?)

If it airs again by chance (Fawlty Towers currently airing should be removed ina couple of weeks. I doubt ETV will rerun the show since it only has 14 eps) I will be waiting to see what is put on next.

I'm coming rather late to this but, for what it's worth, I did see an episode of Dad's Army on TV when I was on holiday in the USA in 1998. At this distance I cannot remember which episode it was or, of course, whether it was a one-off or part of a complete series. It was definitely on then, though.
