Tom Sawyer???

Am I crazy or was there a live action segment on Banana Splits that had Tom, Finn and Becky? I don't see anything about it on IMDB, but I was wondering who played the actors. Do I have the wrong show?

It was called The New Adventures of Huck Finn.

You're thinking of a separate show. "The New Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn" was also produced by Hanna-Barbera, and aired as a prime-time series on NBC between September 15, 1968 and September 7, 1969. Later, episodes were syndicated as part of "The Banana Splits And Friends Show."

Ah, syndication cross-pollination rears its ugly head. Thanks for the info, Mark!

You are correct. It was my favorite segment on "Banana Splits" because I had a big crush on Becky. The three characters from Mark Twain were real, but the rest of the segment was animation (the backgrounds and other characters).

Oh, no. I believe you are thinking of a completely different show. That was a family hour/prime time show called something like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. We watched that ALL the time, snd used to play act it, all the time too. TV was the cornerstone of our imaginative play when I was a kid.

Don't know much about it, but the villain was Injun Joe, and they were always running all over the world to escape him.

I was TOTALLY sure it was a Banana Splits segment... It too was one of my favorites.

I came here looking for the info - but I definitely remember that half real/half animation aspect of the show.

They definitely added parts of Tom Sawyer into Banana Splits when I was a kid in the 70's. My brother and I were obsessed with the splits and I remember it well. I was actually watching the show when the announcement came on that Elvis had died, I remember that like it was yesterday!
