It absolutely is the same. Check out this video on YouTube and you'll see:

I also think that Colplay may have ripped off Joe Satriani. But to my mind that's more coincidental, because it's just 4 chords, and there's only so many ways you can order the chords.

And finally, I also think George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" totally ripped off the Chiffons "He's So Fine."

one of the most blatant to me - The Doors "Hello I love you" ripping of the Kinks "All day All night" (All day and all of the night)

there was also a song on Green Day's album from 2-3 years back that was almost a direct copy of Bowie's "All the young dudes"

but then again, i'm not so sure, lol - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PSVP9LuRhU

Wow, I never heard that before on The Doors/The Kinks. It's a different rhythm, but it's the same notes. Thanks for pointing that out.

What is the Green Day song? I'd love to check that out.

BBC News: "Did the Banana Splits inspire Bob Marley?" (20 August 2008)

The children's TV classic the Banana Splits is getting a modern makeover, reviving memories of its sing-a-long theme tune. But have you ever noticed the startling similarity between it and Bob Marley's hit Buffalo Soldier?

Britney Spears also ripped off a part of the Lidsville theme song for one of her songs some time ago, called Womanizer. If you ignore all the electronic wizardry and auto-tune, you can hear the similarities: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpR6CE0w-ks
