West Valley Division episode

In this episode, Air-10 asks Adam-12 for assistance with a dirt bike rider because he might spark a brush fire. So Pete and Jim come across the rider and try to pull him over. During the "chase", Jim asks Air-10 if they have "run the bike" and Air-10 responds with the information. Name, address etc... of the rider. My question is this: How in the hell did Air-10 get the info? I cannot see how they could even see the license plate on the dirt bike!! Binoculars? I don't think so, with they way that bike would be bouncing all over the place, they'd never be able to read it!! Thoughts?

In the episode "Skywatch Part 1", Malloy and Reed ride in Air 70 to see what copters can and can't do to help patrol units on the ground. The pilot was using a very big camera? (didn't get the name) . Anyway, this camera/binocular was able to magnify everything. So that's how "Air 10" was able to run the license plate of the dirt bike.

Or maybe a good citizen phoned it in with the bike description, plate # and the riders description.
