Weak or Bad Episodes

I am a fan of this show and have seen just about every episode over the years. Some episodes are better than others but unfortunately, some episodes are just weak or just plain bad. One that sticks out to me over the years as really bad is from season 2 entited "SWAT". I have seen this episode a few times over the years and just saw the latest butchered version on COZI TV.

Reed & Malloy arrive at a sniper scene and Mac designates them as SWAT TEAM 1. And just like that, they change into body armour and given assault weapons and instantly become experienced SWAT specialists to take down the bad guy on top of a building. LOL.

What are some weak or bad episodes that stand out for you?

I don't see why that factor you mentioned would make it a bad episode.

Because the episode is so totally unrealistic, it stands out to me as being weaker than the rest. Throwing in the fake back lot representing downtown LA does not help matters. To me, that would make it a bad episode. Just my opinion though.

Quite the opposite. SWAT used to be that way - called in for special situations, but made up of uniformed officers who did regular duty most of the time. Specialized SWAT teams who did nothing else didn't come into being for several more years.

I stand corrected. I did not realize that was the way it was done in those days. I did a quick google search and you are right on target with your response.

Yep. I remember a bad episode where Malloy, his girlfriend, Reed & his expectant wife (any moment) were terrorized in an old ghost town by bikers. That was not a good episode.

I just watched a very bad one. Comic book fighting, in fact at first I thought I was watching an episode of Batman from the 1960s. Then I thought this must be a dream or something. I wish I could tell you the episode name.

I've seen alot of people say that "Elegy for a Cop" was their favorite episode but I think it is my least favorite. It is over the top preachy even by Jack Webb standards. Plot development was on par with an elementary school students storytelling talents.
