What was Bond trying to accomplish, impersonating an astronaut?

I mean, Bond didn`t have training as an astronaut (that was clearly establish in Moonraker), maybe disable the SPECTRE ship in orbit, but then what? as a matter of fact Blofeld save his life when he stop him just in the entrance, so blofeldd have plans to destroy the ship wherever the outcome of the plan....
