So he tells him his future "wife" has a face like a pig

...as a prank? Then he has a couple of pig faced girls show up for Bond to roll his eyes about and then he gets to the real "wife" and she doesn't look a bit like a pig.

Seems unusual for a movie.

I got the impression that Tiger Tanaka was quite the practical joker.

We are teachers on sabbatical and we have just won the lottery.

This is one aspect of the film I found really annoying. Not the pig face joke part, but that Bond seemed ridiculously over concerned about the appearance of his fake wife. One would assume with the impending nuclear holocaust his primary focus would be on the mission, and not on the looks of some woman he's pretend marrying to maintain a cover for said mission.

A would be true for a serious James Bond like Daniel Craig but for the James Bond of Sean Connery the thought that there's a possibility of failure isn't just absent it's a 1000 miles away in some unknown location.

Daniel Craig neither is serious nor Bond at all. He is a stupid actor, which never played Bond at all. He played something which is called Bond. But thats all.

Just because the fate of the world is at stake doesn't mean you can't have a little fun.

Exactly.

Well, he laid there at night oggling his fake wife and contemplating on raping her.

I think its supposed to be a joke thats played on Bond, but its not real clear.

It doesnt help that this movie is now 50 years old and standards in attractiveness change over time.

I always just figured Tiger was having a little bit of fun at Bond's expense.

Piques his interest no less. In Japan they enjoy popularity as an animal, specifically the white-moustached pig, or boar. This confused me too; after googling for some cultural reference the boar is linked to fertility and fortune, also symbolized by defining on their calendar certain traits. So that may help inside that remark.

It's just some low-key sarcasm/sass from Tanaka pertaining to Bond's immature concerns over his partner's looks (going by his reputation it's obvious Bond is asking about her because he wants someone to put the moves on and not for any reason related to the mission). Sort of like, "Oh, and what're you gonna do about it if she's ugly? That's what I thought. Get serious!"
