Animals harmed in the making of this movie were purely coincidental.

Since they signed waivers before shooting, you really have little reason to complain. Seriously, stop bitching.
The families of the animals were well compensated. Times were (are) hard especially for lower class beasts and the work they managed to get in this film was a dogsend to them all. Several of the pig's great great x9 grandpigs still send fond well-wishes to Godard even today. One of those descendants was put through college from the money earned and eventually became a US president. If not for the sacrifice of our brave servicepig it never would have happened.

As for the duck/goose? His decapitation would have occurred soon whether he was in this movie or not. He was hired out of skid row and he was always in trouble. His girl got his salary for this film and managed to make a better life for herself and even got off the sauce and stopped whoring.
